Steve Israel and Supporters Team Up to Distribute Grocery Bundles to Local Families
Israel supporters help pack and distribute food bundles to 400 Long Island families as part of Mike James Day in Amityville, NY
Amityville, NY- On Saturday, Rep. Steve Israel joined campaign
supporters, Island Harvest, and Circle of Love Ministry at Mike James
Day/Rock the Block, an annual community event in Amityville, to
announce the successful distribution of grocery bundles to more than
400 local families.
"I'm proud to join with my supporters, Circle of Love Ministry, and
Island Harvest to commend them for the successful distribution of food
to hundreds of families in our community" said Rep. Israel. "These
grocery bundles will ensure that four hundred local families will be
able to put dinner on the table this week."

Circle of Love Ministry in providing much needed food supplies for the
families of Amityville," said Randi Shubin Dresner, President & CEO
of Island Harvest, "It is a pleasure to see neighbors helping neighbors
in these tough economic times."
On Thursday, Israel supporters worked alongside Pastor Kirton and
Circle of Love Ministry and volunteers from Island Harvest to assemble
bundles of groceries for local families in need. The groceries were
distributed on Saturday as part of Mike James Day/Rock the Block.
Also on Saturday, Rep. Israel addressed the crowd gathered in
Amityville for Mike James Day to speak about the successful effort and
celebrate the community.
Island Harvest is Long Island's largest hunger relief organization.
Volunteers and staff deliver millions of pounds of good, surplus food -
much of which might otherwise go to waste - to a network of 600+ Long
Island-based food pantries, soup kitchens, and other non-profit
organizations that offer feeding services for those in need.
