Rep. Israel Files 2nd Quarter FEC Report with Nearly $1.2 Million on Hand and Over $200,000 Raised
Israel Also Raises $800K for Top Congressional Candidates
Washington, DC- Tuesday, U.S. Rep. Steve Israel (D-Long Island, NY) announced his FEC filing for the second quarter of 2008 will show $205,700 raised, bringing his "cash-on-hand" total to $1.192 million. Israel has already contributed his entire $200,000 commitment in dues to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) and has raised an additional $451,700 for the party and $798,150 for top Congressional candidates.
"I take nothing for granted and am working hard to make sure that I'm ready for whatever occasion may arise," Israel said. "I'll also continue to support like-minded Democrats to ensure we maintain a strong majority in Congress."
Israel serves on the DCCC recruitment committee and is in charge of Northeast recruitment for the DCCC. During this election cycle has traveled throughout New York to emphasize the importance of the state to growing the Democratic majority in Congress.
Israel is the founder and co-chair of the House Center Aisle Caucus and is a member of the New Democrat Coalition.
